چکیده

Error-rate performance is studied for selection combining (SC) with arbitrary number of diversity branches over generalized correlated Weibull fading channels. Using a transformation of cumulative distribution function of average branch signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), we present the exact error-rate expressions for coherent and noncoherent modulations in infinite series forms. In particular, we develop asymptotic symbol error rate expressions with closed-form which are valid at high SNR. Presented numerical examples show that taking the first several terms of the series based error-rate expression results in improved error-rate estimation compared to the asymptotic error-rate. These error-rate expressions which can be evaluated efficiently indicate some significant insights into the characteristics of SC over generalized correlated Weibull fading channels. The accuracy of the analytical results is validated by the simulation results. Key–Words: correlated fading channels; error-rate performance; selection combining; Weibull distribution

Performance analysis of system with L-branch selection combining over correlated Weibull fading channels in the presence of cochannel interference

In this paper, closed-form expressions for probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) at the output of the triple selection combining (SC) receiver over correlated Weibull fading channels in the presence of correlated cochannel interference (CCI) are derived. Bit Error Rate Performance Analysis of a Threshold-Based Generalized Selection Combining Scheme in Nakagami Fading Channels

The severity of fading on mobile communication channels calls for the combining of multiple diversity sources to achieve acceptable error rate performance. Traditional approaches perform the combining of the different diversity sources using either the conventional selective diversity combining (CSC), equal-gain combining (EGC), or maximal-ratio combining (MRC) schemes. CSC andMRC are the two e...

Energy Detection of Unknown Signals over Composite multipath/shadowing Fading Channels

In this paper, the performance analysis of an energy detector is exploited over composite multipath/shadowing fading channels, which is modeled by Rayleigh-lognormal (RL) distribution. Based on an approximate channel model which was recently proposed by the author, the RL envelope probability density function (pdf) is approximated by a finite sum of weighted Rayleigh pdfs. Relying on this inter...

The Outage Probability of Multibranch Selection Combining over Correlated Weibull Fading Channel

In this paper, we analyze the outage probability of a multibranch selection combining (SC) based on the signal to interference ratio (SIR) over Weibull fading channels in case of non-identical power distribution per branches. Both, desired and interference signal envelopes are exponentially correlated Weibull random variables. Also, an analysis of effects of fading parameter β, correlation coef...

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...
